An Ardnamurchan cottage gives you a hill walking Highland paradise where you hardly ever meet another soul. From the house, Beinn Resipol (2775ft) and Garbh Bheinn (2900ft) and Glen Gour are only a few miles away and are much more interesting than trudging in line up Ben Nevis. There are many epic rock climbs on the east side of Garbh Bheinn.
Cycling is great all around Ardnamurchan as the roads are quiet, but there are many miles of traffic- free paths on the south side of Loch Sunart and Loch Shiel, not to forget all the Forestry Commission tracks.
Sailing on Loch Sunart is a joy and you can launch from the slipway and use our mooring. It is also great for Kayaking, as is Loch Shiel just over the hill. If you don’t have a boat, you can hire one at Kilchoan or join a whale watching trip.
Sea and river fishing are available within walking distance. Strontian Angling Association licences are available from both shops.
Skiing on Nevis Range and Glen Coe is only 45 minutes away and is often best around Easter.
Arts and Craft studios are dotted all around and many offer tuition. There are also regular concerts at the Sunart Centre in the village.
Ardaros is therefore an Ardnamurchan cottage at the centre of this renowned outdoor playground.
